Second Quarter of 2026: The pace of my speaking engagements continues into the second quarter of the year. It was a great discussion at Umina Library, featuring Deception Under Maltese Skies and talking about why Malta is the perfect setting. A fab time was had meeting with the Probus community at Umina and holding a book adjacent event with the University of the Third Age (U3A) where the focus was on the history of The Mediterranean explored through Maltese Food. On the coast I had the pleasure of talking about my books with the Sea Seekers book club. My events took me back to suburbs where I spent much of my earlier life, speaking at Merrylands Library, Probus Greystanes and Fairfield Maltese Community.

First Quarter of 2026: What are start to my author events for 2026!I had the privilege of speaking with the Maltese Community Council members at Greystanes. I spoke about weaving Malta into my crime thrillers so it becomes more than a location, it becomes a character in the story. I was also invited to do an in-store event at Harry Hartog Bookstore in Penrith. I was humbled to have readers come in to see me and talk about my books. What a blast it was when a young reader said she was so excited to meet an author in real life!

Various Events in 2025: It was a busy last quarter of 2025 with Author Talks, meet the Author events and meeting readers at the markets.

BOOKFACE Erina In Store: Always love to meet readers and talk about my books. This couldn’t happen without the support of local bookstores.

A smiling woman wearing a colorful floral shirt sits next to a man holding a book titled 'Deception Under Maltese Skies' by Sean Richardson in a store filled with various greeting cards and souvenirs.

Books and Beyond 2252: I was very excited and proud to be part of the inaugural bookfair held on the coast at Ourimbah.

Malta Historical Association: It was an interesting session to explain how I gave the reader glimpses of Malta’s rich history in a thriller set in moden Malta.

Our Lady of Victories Festa: Soaking up the Maltese Culture and sharing stories of Malta at Horsley Park, NSW.

University of the 3rd Age: had a great time presenting my talk to members of U3A of how and why I portrayed Malta as the location for thrillers.

St Mary MacKillop, Woongarrah, Festa: Joined in the annual religious Maltese cutural festival.

L-Imnarja Festival Plumpton: Joined in the annual Maltese cutural festival, marking the traditional feast of Saints Peter and Paul.

Lake Haven Library – Release of Deception Under Maltese Skies:I was very fortunate to have Joseph Galea, OAM, to introduce the release of my latest book, Deception Under Maltese Skies. Joseph and I spoke about how, in our own ways, we were telling stories of Malta through poetry, songs and books.

Author in the Orchard-Bambino’s Cafe: What a great setting amongst the orchards of Kulnura to meet and chat with people and I hope those that bought a book enjoy the story, the Maltese Web, a thriller set in Malta. Thanks to Nick and Daniel for hosting me.

BOOKFACE Erina: It was wonderful to be invited to an instore event at BOOKFACE Erina. I enjoyed the conversations with people who stopped by to talk about my book, The Maltese Web, my writing process and experience of publishing a book. Thank you to the wonderful readers who purchased a book and also Alana and the staff at BOOKFACE for hosting me.

Highlights of the Victorian Book Tour 2025

University of the 3rd Age: A wonderfully engaged audience attended to hear my talk on how I wove Malta into my book, The Maltese Web. People who are committed to lifelong learning were a great crowd, with which to share my experiences, knowledge, observations and obsessions about Maltese history, society, culture and the island’s way of life. Malta will now be on a couple of people’s bucket list! People loved the wonderful homemade Pudina tal Hobz. Congratulations to Jenny who won the quiz and took home the book as a prize.

Sharpey’s Cafe Shack Woy Woy: It was a great morning to meet people and chat about the book. In particular, those people with a strong Maltese connection, and other people who have an interest in travel bought the book to whet their appetite. It is a work of fiction but I worked hard on bringing an authentic sense of Malta to the reader.

La Valette Centre Blacktown: I spoke with 25 people at La Valette Social Centre about how I wove Malta into my book, set in Malta, a thriller called The Maltese Web. I very much enjoyed the discussion and talking about the sights and culture I included in the book, and hearing which towns people had a connection to in Malta and Gozo- Sliema, Senglea, Mgarr, Gozo.

Umina Library: Liesl Tesch MP our local member popped in unannounced to open the discussion about my book The Maltese Web, at Umina Beach Library. A fantastic audience of 40 people came to listen as we discussed Malta, the story and how my experiences on the little island in the Mediterranean influenced my fictional thriller, set in Malta.

Peninsula Village: I had a lovely time having a chat about how I wove Malta into my story of The Maltese Web at Peninsula village. I love talking about the book and the story behind it.

Umina Markets: I had a great time at Umina Markets talking about Malta and my book The Maltese Web. Thank you to everyone who bought a copy, and also for those people who simply stopped by to talk about Malta and my writing. A shout out to those people who have read the book and came by to tell me how much they enjoyed the story. I especially liked the comments of how my descriptions brought back memories of exploring the island; ‘as Marica drove around I could see myself driving those streets’.
